Abida Parveen   (Sindhi)   born 20 February 1954  is a Pakistani  singer, composer and musician of Sufi Music. She is also a painter and entrepreneur. Parveen is one of the highest paid singers in Pakistan. Her singing and music has earned her many accolades, and she has been dubbed as the ' Queen of Sufi music'. Born and raised in Larkana  into a Sindhi Sufu   family,  she was trained by her father Ustad Ghulam Haider who was a famous singer and music teacher. She plays Pump organ  Keyboard and  Sitar.  Parveen started performing in the early 1970s and came into global prominence in the 1990s. The Federal Government has given reasons for not releasing the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky . Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), in a statement issued yesterday, stated that the Federal Government could not interfere with the El-Zakzaky case because he is still being prosecuted by a state government. The AGF also refuted speculations that the federal government was compelled to release Omoyele Sowore and Sambo Dasuki. Recall that the AGF directed an immediate release of Dasuki and Sowore, who were in the custody of DSS. I n December last year, a team of archaeologists from Khairpur University started excavating the historical site of Brahminabad, also known as Dalu Rai ja Darra or the Mound of Dalu Rai located east of Shahdadpur in Sanghar district. Before the arrival of Arabs, this was a big city spread over 14 square kilometers. Over time, its area has shrunk to one and a half kilometers as people from neighbouring communities have settled and occupied the land. Brahminabad was first excavated in 1854 by Bellasis and Richardson, followed by a second excavation from 1895 to 1901 by Henry Cousens, well known for his work among the monuments and antiquities of western India. The third excavation was done from 1962 to 1965 by the Archaeology Department of Pakistan, but no report was disclosed. In the recent excavation, pottery, beads and coins have been found.
